Salahudeen Shareeka

I’m Fathima Shareeka from Sri Lanka. I am 25 years old and just after my basic degree studies in Social work. Though I’m a Social Worker, I successfully got through the Commonwealth’s Youth Development Programme in my region and got to know the youth development related issues and more about the commonwealth structures and procedures. Further, currently am being a trainer of National Peace Council in Sri Lanka and working for the National Reconciliation through LLRC implementation all over the island. As because I’m fluent in all 3 languages (Tamil, Sinhala and English) that are used in my country I get the chance to work throughout the country.

These give me opportunity to make a difference in the community by being a sociable person. Further, being a member at Sri Lanka youth parliament I got a national identity among my friends and this carves me as a responsible and a hard-working person day by day. I’m not ashamed to admit my faults. I know the road ahead is not easy for me, but I can’t stop here but to move ahead in order to achieve my goals. I think, life is like a cup of tea. The taste of the tea depends on how we prepare it. My own successes depend in my own hands. So I work hard to achieve my goals.
